Jayne Plumer and Kristal Meyer, president and vice president, respectively, of Innovative Tourism (IT), Wisconsin’s premier destination alliance, are passionate about their jobs.  Together they have more than 26 years of industry experience, having worked extensively with the group tour market as receptive tour operators and as retail tour operators.
IT represents select attractions, restaurants, entertainment venues, and lodging facilities that are sure to fit perfectly in any group tour.  The company has formed a partnership with Tours, Etc., are sure to fit perfectly in any group tour. The company has formed a partnership with Tours, Etc., an itinerary planning

service that will take the marketing efforts of IT to the next level by creating a tour to fit the particular needs and budget of your group.

Tours, Etc. is a “One Call, That’s All” comprehensive receptive tour operator for groups coming into western Wisconsin, the Mississippi River Valley, and surrounding regions.  Tours, Etc. takes great pride in creating custom itineraries for groups, and themed itineraries to fit every season.

During September and October, the Autumn Interlude itinerary takes advantage of the area’s spectacular fall colors, some friendly ghouls, and Amish Harvest tour, and maybe a Halloween costume contest.  From November through December, the Old Fashioned Christmas Tour features a horse-drawn sleigh ride, dazzling Holiday Lights at Christmas Village, performance at Fanny Hill Dinner Theatre, wreath making demonstrations, a keepsake ornament, and a personalized poem.  The company offers many specialized services to assure that you have a successful and flawless tour.

For almost two years, the Jail Bailers have been committing crimes of passion by performing a routine they love, said Dan Holtz in the Leader-Telegram on March 23, 2003.  The entertainment was thrown together under the guidance of Plumer when a group from North Dakota was planning a three-day tour of Western Wisconsin and had nothing planned for its first night. The group sought assistance in finding an activity after an eight-hour mortorcoach ride.  Plumer and several Eau Claire Male Chorus members decided to put together a show for the North Dakota group.  The Jail Bailers have remained together ever since to play for tour groups.  Plumer said she can best describe a Jail Bailers show in one sentences.  “Start with Lawrence Welk, add a little Hee Haw, and top it off with Frank Sinatra and the Statler brothers,” she said.  It’s a good old variety show designed for incoming tour groups.

“Our May ‘Mystery Tour’ was one of our best trips ever.  The Jail Bailers performed our first night and they were so talented and fun.  The people are still talking about it,” said Jeff Willer of the North Dakota Farmers Union, Jamestown, ND.

Other popular tours include Roads Less Traveled, which features the picturesque countryside and ethnic culinary delights of rural Wisconsin, a favorite of Donna Lord’s.
”This wasn’t or first trip with Jayne and won’t be our last!” said Lord from Winnebago Senior Tours of Oshkosh, Wis.

From April through November, groups can get treated to a friendly ambush, horse-drawn wagon ride, home-cooked meal, great entertainment, and something to wet your whistle at Leinenkugel’s Brewery when Calamity Jayne Rides Again.

On the Hysterically Historical tour, groups will learn and laugh as they reenter the early 1900s when the Chippewa Valley was home to the largest white pine lumber companies in the world.  Your costumed guided will show you magnificent mansions, theatres, and museums while sharing some rather humorous anecdotes.

May through October the popular Great River Road tour and Down Home Country Tour feature the Mississippi River or an 1890s Norwegian farmstead at their hearts.  Tours can be customized around attractions that include the Bullfrog Fish Farm, Eau Galle Cheese Factory, and The Paul Bunyan Logging Camp.  All provide a nostalgic and memorable tour, the hallmark of Tours, Etc. and IT.

Both IT owners share a true passion for tourism, with a strong belief in the group tour market.  Need we say more?
